A masterclass about FX and digital retouching, a workshop about virtual effects for short films and a meeting with directors and professionals will be the focus of FILMETS Pro on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th of October
Centre Cultural El Carme, located in Francesc Layret Street, 78-82 in Badalona, will be the headquarters for these activities together with the Teatre Principal
Masterclass about FX and digital retouching
FILMETS Pro will start up with a masterclass about FX and digital retouching conducted by Jaume E. Vilaseca under the name of ‘The cinematic digital effects’. Jaume E. Vilaseca is a Fine Arts graduate by the University of Barcelona in the field of Image. He has worked in advertising, graphic design and postproduction and is currently a professor in various universities.
It will be held on Thursday 26th at 16.30 h at Teatre Principal, located in Francesc Layret Street, 41.
Virtual reality
On Thursday the 27th of October at 18 h at Centre Cultural El Carme, organized together with the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia, the professional meeting to discuss about the possibilities of virtual reality (VR) for the short film industry will take place
Pere Pérez, CEO at Vysion, a company specialized in virtual and augmented reality and immersive technology; and Bernat Aragonès, publishing and postproduction director of Antaviana Films, specialized in postproduction, VFX and virtual reality will speak on this subject.
Under the name of Virtual Reality VR, the public attending this working session will experience virtual reality, and will receive VR goggles thanks to the collaboration of Goodie Cardboard 360.
The event will be presented by Josep Viñeta Balsells, CEO of Badalona Comunicació, and will be led by Jordi Mendieta, president of Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia.
Professional meeting for the distribution of short films
Under the name ‘Tools for distributing and promoting short films’, on Friday 27th of October, at 16.30 h, a meeting for short film professionals targeted to directors, producers and distributors will be carried out in Centre Cultural El Carme. The speakers will talk about their experiences in the short film industry as well as the recent developments in this sector.

– Millán Vázquez, Spanish distributor of FREAK
– Marta Swiateck, fiction and animation short film coordinator in Poland
– Mayra Tinajero, sales manager and business developer at the German company Reelport GmbH, a provider of technical services to cinema festivals.
The moderator of the professional meeting will be Agustí Argelich, director of the Filmets festival
