250 short films from all the five Continents will take part on the Official Section of the festival.
Germany is the guest country in this year’s edition, which will be held from the 20th to the 29th of October.
This Friday, 20th of October, at 22:00 begins the 43rd edition of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival at the Zorrilla Theater, a worldwide reference festival on the field of short films.
This year, 250 short films from all the five Continents will be projected on the Official Section. In total, more than 44 hours of films will be screened in the competition sessions.
FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, a festival organized by Badalona Comunicació, will be held from the 20th to the 29th of October and, for the first time, there will be projections in the three municipal theaters: Zorrilla Theater, Principal Theater and Blas Infante Theater. Also, there will be a session at the Institut Francès of Barcelona and some professional oriented sessions, FILMETS Pro, will take place at the Centre Cultural El Carme.
This noon, the festival began with the attendance of the third deputy mayor and councilor of the Àmbit of Badalona Democràtica, Jose Téllez; the fourth deputy mayor and councilor of the Àmbit of Badalona Educadora, Laia Sabater; the chief executive officer of Badalona Comunicació, Josep Viñeta Balsells; and the director of the festival, Agustí Argelich. In addition to the photo family, the author of the poster of the festival, the designer Mariona Jiménez, was also present. The main character of the poster of this year is a lovely dove enjoying the short films.
The FILMETS festival will be open with the film ‘La femme et le TGV’, starring Jane Birkin. Germany is this year’s edition guest country. In the session FOCUS FILMETS: Germany, many directors, both male and female, will screen their short films to the audience.
‘La Nit de les Venus’, in which the films will be awarded, will take place on Zorilla Theater on Saturday, 28th of October , at 22:00, and will be streamed by Televisió de Badalona.
