The Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (CCMA) and Badalona Comunicació have signed a collaborative agreement to promote and publicise the activities organised within the framework of the 46th FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, which will take place between the 16th and the 25th of October. The agreement also aims to promote the audiovisual industry’s short film genre in general.

Núria Llorach, acting Chair of the CCMA, and Josep Viñeta Balsells, CEO of Badalona Comunicació, signed the collaboration agreement to support and promote the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival and the short film industry.

Shorts take centre stage at the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, which this year celebrates its 46th edition with a new format. The 2020 festival will adopt a hybrid format, combining audience-attended theatre sessions in Badalona and Barcelona, with the free online screening of all the films that entered the competition at www.festivalfilmets.cat.

The CCMA’s media outlets will use their various programmes and spaces to provide extensive coverage of the activities associated with the next edition of the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, which will take place between the 16th and the 25th of October. In addition, channel 33 will broadcast, in full, some short films entered in recent editions of FILMETS as part of a special programme dedicated to short films.

On Thursday the 15th of October, the channel will broadcast a FILMETS special, screening the winner of last year’s Best Film category Skin, as well as Hybrids and The Human Face. The second programme, scheduled for Thursday the 22nd of October, will feature Correspondència, a film by Carla Simón and Dominga Sotomayor with the participation of TV3, as well as the films Nefta Football Club and Madre.

Furthermore, coinciding with the festival’s screenings, some of Catalunya Ràdio’s programmes will launch various participatory experiences and activities aimed at spectators and listeners.

The agreement is part of the CCMA’s mission to promote and disseminate culture, and its commitment to guaranteeing coverage for major cultural events and the most important festivals in Catalonia by collaborating with the institutions working to foster culture, education, creativity and innovation.
