In this special session of Inspira’t TV, an initiative of the Clúster Audiovisual de Catalunya and 3CAT, we will take a look at the formats that have set trends this year in television channels around the world and see how the audiovisual industry is increasingly becoming a generator of content regardless of the broadcast channel.

Wednesday, October 25 at 10.30h and this year it will be only in person at the Centro Cultural El Carme.

An agile and participative dialogue in which we will reflect on a genre that is the most common way to enter the industry and we will try to solve, among other questions, the following frequent doubts when producing short films: Why make a short film? Is a short film only a means to grow and a way to prepare for feature films or is it a form of expression in itself, a genre with its own personality? Is it profitable to make a short film? How to attract talent for a short film? What financing channels are available to Catalan production companies? What must a short film have to be attractive? Does it make sense to co-produce in the same territory? What is the best way to approach exhibitors? How long does it usually take to make a short film a reality?

  • PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK GUÍA CONTABLE Y FISCAL DE LA INDUSTRIA DEL CINE Y AUDIOVISUAL. VOLUMEN II BY JOSÉ MANUEL LIZANDA CUEVAS

    Synopsis of the book

This book aims to analyze the most relevant accounting and tax issues of the audiovisual sector, mainly in its cinematographic part. It describes the different phases of the activity: pre-production, production, post-production and distribution, as well as the accounting and tax implications of each one of them. The accounting treatment of financing sources such as subsidies, contracts with television stations, platforms and distributors and their impact on the income statement and taxable income is studied.
An essential part of this work is the analysis of the tax incentives for Spanish audiovisual productions and their optimization through the use of the financing contract, regulated in article 36.1 and 39.7 of the Corporate Income Tax Law. The tax benefits for foreign audiovisual productions carried out by Spanish production companies, regulated in article 36.2 of said Law, are also studied. It includes new contents written by professional experts in different facets and phases of the audiovisual process, as well as from other sectors of audiovisual communication, who explain ways of doing and future perspectives in each of their areas of work.

Together they discovered the fascinating world of animation. She has created and directed preschool series such as Misha, la gata violeta or Jasmine & Jambo, with which they have won international awards and nominations.
