Judit Jiménez, from Pau Gargallo Institute, is the creator of the selected artwork.
The 52nd edition of the Filmets Badalona Film Festival now has its official poster. After receiving nearly twenty submissions, the selected design was created by Judit Jiménez, a student in the Higher Vocational Diploma in Illustration at the Pau Gargallo School of Art in Badalona.
Following the festival’s brief to create a conceptual poster, the illustrator designed a vibrant, colourful piece representing the wide range of genres showcased at FILMETS and the diversity of its audiences. Using her graphic tablet and digital illustration tools, she chose to move away from literal imagery, avoiding elements such as cameras, screens or eyes. The result is an illustration of a young woman stepping through a portal into the stories told by the festival’s short films.
As every year, the poster illustration competition is the result of a collaboration between the festival and the Pau Gargallo School of Art. This initiative promotes young artistic talent from Badalona by showcasing their work at an internationally renowned festival, while giving students valuable insight into the professional world of illustration.
The poster will be displayed throughout the city on street banners and at the various events scheduled for the 52nd edition of the Filmets Badalona Film Festival, which will take place from 15 to 25 October.
