As part of its 52nd edition, the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival is launching the second edition of FILMETS LAB, a film project development lab aimed at young creators aged between 18 and 30. The aim of FILMETS LAB is to promote the creation of fiction, animation and documentary short films, while providing emerging talent from Catalonia with tools, guidance and visibility. Applications will remain open until 2 October 2026.
Pitching session and prize for the selected project
The finalist projects will be presented in a pitching session, which will take place as part of this year’s festival. The jury, made up of professionals from the audiovisual and film industries, together with the organising committee, will select the winning project, which will receive:
- Mentoring and personalised guidance throughout all stages of production (screenwriting, production, filming, post-production, animation and distribution).
- The premiere of the short film as part of the programme of the 53rd edition of the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, in 2027.
Eligibility requirements
FILMETS LAB is aimed at professionals, students and creators residing in Catalonia aged between 18 and 30. Fiction, documentary and animation projects with a maximum running time of 15 minutes may be submitted. Applicants must submit a complete proposal including a synopsis, logline, biography and the current status of the project, among other materials.
