The FILMETS Badalona Film Festival has just been accredited by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain as a partner festival of the Goya Awards. The move recognises FILMETS’ ongoing work in the short film genre. This year will see the 47th edition of the FILMETS Festival, which will be held from the 22nd to the 31st of October in Badalona, Barcelona and Sant Boi.

The certification awarded by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain means that all the Spanish productions in the international programme of the next edition of FILMETS will be eligible to submit their candidacy for the fiction, animation or documentary categories at next year’s Goya Awards.

Having received the accreditation, the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival now joins the 43 other Spanish festivals approved by the Academy for the Goya 2022 awards race, including the distinguished film competitions held in Málaga, Valladolid, Gijón, Huesca and Sitges, among others.
