Italy is the guest country on this 44th edition of the international festival dedicated to short films.
After the ‘Pinocchio Elettronico’ premiere, the session ‘Focus Itàlia’ will present four short films showcasing the talent and creativity of the best short films made in Italy.
‘Pinocchio Elettronico’
FILMETS Badalona Film Festival will offer ‘Pinocchio Elettronico’, a contemporary show formed by the fusion of the 1911 silent film ‘Pinocchio’ and the electronic accompaniment performed live by the band Miclono, formed by three musicians. The show will take place at the Zorrilla Theatre, October 21st at 6:00 pm.
‘Pinocchio’ is a silent film in black and white, it lasts about 42 minutes and was directed by Giulio Antamoro. The film is based on the book by the same name written by Carlo Collodi. The main characters are Ferdinand Guillaume, on the role of Pinocchio; Natalino Guillaume playing Lucignolo; Augusto Mastripietri as Geppetto; and Lea Giunchi as the fairy.
Miclono is an experimental sound project created at the end of 2016 that focuses on experimental electronic music. Any sound that gets filtrated by their synthesizers is polyphonically transformed. The audience attending ‘Pinocchio Elettronico’ will have the chance to experience it live at the Zorrilla Theatre.
The film is remastered and its format will turn the screening into a powerful visual and sensory experience.

Italy will be the guest country on the 44th edition of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, to be held from 19-28 October. In this sense, the festival has programmed the screening of several short films, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.

‘Focus Itàlia’ with 4 short films
After the ‘Pinocchio’ screening, the Zorrilla Theatre will host the session ‘Focus Itàlia’, a competition session that represents the guest country, bringing to the festival some of the best short films of today.
The screening will include four short films showing the talent and creativity of the best short films made in Italy today. The programme includes: ‘Il legionario’ (13 minutes), ’59 seconds’ (16 minutes); ‘Piccole Italiane’ (18 minutes) and ‘Timballo’ (18 minutes).
