From 8th to 17th November: FILMETS Badalona Film Festival

FILMETS 2013 comes with an Official Section of 289 films from more than 40 countries and 4,126 registrations.

The 39th edition of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival will be held from 8th to 17th November 2013 and will have its competitive phase in the two official venues of the Festival: Teatre Zorrilla and Teatre El Círcol, alongside with CES Joan Maragall, La Nau 3 (Centre Cultural l’Escorxador) and Badalona public libraries.

FEATURES
FILMETS Badalona Film Festival is all screened in high definition.
We continue to offer the MerCATin brand, with the 3rd Catalan and International Short Film Market.
This year we are launching a brand new website.
The Festival will again be a meeting point for short film directors and producers from around the world, and will be attended by filmmakers and festival representatives of several countries.
On 2012 FILMETS Badalona Film Festival won the Special Prize of the 30th BISFF of Busan for Best Festival of the Year, where Clermont-Ferrand International du Court Metrage won the Prize for Best Market of the Year, in an honour deference for both festivals.

INFORMATION
Opening Ceremony: Friday, 8th of November at 10 pm at Teatre Zorrilla (invitation required).
Closing Ceremony (Night of the Venus): Saturday, 16th of November at 20 h at Teatre Zorrilla (invitation required).
Adresses: Teatre Zorrilla (c/ Canonge Baranera, 17, Badalona), Teatre El Círcol (c/ San Anastasi, 2, Badalona) and Nau 3 (c/ Arquitecte Fradera, s/n, Badalona).
Price: €2 per day to access each session from 7 pm. You can also buy the Festival ticket for all sessions for €15 with the official catalogue. The rest of the sessions that are open to the public are sponsored and free.

SESSIONS
Filmets in family: session of animation films for children.
Guest country, France: special session dedicated to the French cinema, including a cheese tasting provided by l’Affineur du Fromage.
Manifesto: shorts related to politics and social demands.
Young Filmlets: projections for primary and secondary school students.
Late Night session: a session with the more cheeky and radical shorts.
The sea of Filmets: Mediterranean cinema: a session on cinematography from countries and areas of the Mediterranean.
Cinema from Quebec: dedicated to the cinematography of Quebec.
Cinema from Galicia: special session of the nominees and winner shorts at the Maestre Mateo’s awards.
Human Rights: shorts on social issues.
Historical Cinema: Dedicated to films of Jesús Morales, cofunder of amateur section SCAMM from Badalona Museu Municipal.
Badalona in short: shorts by authors from Badalona.
Filmets for the coexistence: shorts on social issues.
Filmets for everyone: short films for children and youngsters with physical and mental disabilities.
Small Filmets: session to bring the little ones closer to the world of cinema.
Filmets at the libraries: short sessions for children in all the city’s libraries.

MASTERCLASS
With Retro-conflictivos: a retrospective view of Conflictivos Productions on Friday, 8th November at 4 pm at the Pau Gargallo School of Art and Higher School of Design.
With SAM Conflictivos Productions about the stop motion technique, at the Okey shop in Badalona on Saturday, 9th November at 6 pm.
With Jean Marc E. Roy and Michaël Lalancette (Quebec), on Friday, 15th November at 6 pm in the foyer at the Zorrilla.
With Albert Lloreta, director of documentaries, videos and reports will lead Filmets for beginners and mobile Filmets on Tuesday 19th November at 6 pm at La Sargantana (c/ Sant Sebastià, 2, Badalona).

MERCADO DEL CORTOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL
This year FILMETS Badalona Film Festival continues with the brand MerCATin, the 3rd Short Film International Market. With the colaboration of Microgestio.com (oficial Apple Store in Barcelona), MerCATin will allow professionals that come to the Festival between 11 and 15 to watch the last catalan productions and films from the Official Section of the Festival.

ACCREDITATIONS
The accreditations will be held on the Hall of Teatre Zorrilla during the festival. The media can enter to all projections with the press accreditation, and also access to the Inauguration and Closing Ceremonies
