A masterclass in FX, a session about Virtual Reality for short films and a meeting with directors and professionals will focus FILMETS Pro, which will be hold on 26th and 27th October
FILMETS Pro, as an activity that takes place in FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, wants to encourage exchanges with professionals with more experience in the industry and facilitate the learning of young directors

FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, which will be held from 20th to 29th October, will bring together all the activities that will take place in the context of the event OFF FILMETS. Here we can find FILMETS Pro, aimed to the professional audience, where attendees will enjoy a masterclass about animation, which will be held for two days. The masterclass will cover the possibilities of Virtual Reality in the short film industry and will hold too a meeting with professionals
El Carme Cultural Centre located at Carrer de Francesc Layret, 78-82, will be the main venue for these activities, which will be also held at Teatre Principal and the Escola Superior de Disseny i Arts Pau Gargallo. FILMETS Pro will be held from 20th to 29th October.
The aim of FILMETS Pro is provide to short filmmakers all the tools they may need to find out the possibilities of exhibition beyond festivals, television channels and professional platforms. Likewise, the aim is to encourage the exchange of these authors with the most experienced professionals in the sector and introduce them into the short film industry.
A double session of a masterclass about FX
FILMETS Pro will start a masterclass about FX directed by Jaume E. Vilaseca with the title “Els efectes digitals cinematogràfics”. It will take place on 26thOctober at 4:30 pm in Teatre Principal, at Carrer Francesc Layret, 41. Free entrance.
After this theoretical part, next day, the practical part will be carried out with a workshop about cinematographic digital effects, directed by Jaume E. Vilaseca too. It will start on 27thOctober from 5:00 pm at Escola Superior d’Art i Disseny Pau Gargallo, at Carrer Molí de la Torre, 16.
Possibilities of Virtual Reality
On 26th October at 6:00 pm will be held at El Carme Cultural Centre and organized jointly with the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia, the meeting with professionals to discuss the possibilities of Virtual Reality for the short film industry. Free entrance, but capacity is limited.
Meetingwith professionals
With the title “Les eines de distribució i promoció del curtmetratge” on 27th October, at 5:00 pm, at El Carme Cultural Centre will be held a meeting with short films professionals aimed to directors, producers, programmers and distributors. This will be the place where the speakers mentioned above will explain their experiences in the world of festivals, distribution and production of short films or news from the industry. Capacity is limited and it is necessary a free registration
The speakers in FILMETS Pro this year are:
- Saskia Walker, short film programmer and «curator» of the Berlinale
- Aurélie Chesné, short film programmer at France TV and producer
- Millán Vázquez, Spanish distributor of FREAK
- Marta Swiateck, coordinator of Polish short fiction and animated films
- Mayra Tinajero, sales and business development manager at Reelport GmbH, a technology service provider for film festivals located in Germany
- Agustí Argelich, director of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, will be the moderator of the meeting where all these professionals will participate.
