PADRE, Santiago ‘Bou’ Grasso’s animation shortfilm, won the Venus for the best film at the 40th edition of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival

The 40th edition of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival closes the festival with a big success   in the movie theaters of the city. The Nit de les Venus, the closing ceremony, was a night full of surprises, prizes and emotions.

Espartac Peran and Lídia Heredia hosted the NIT DE LES VENUS of this year that has been broadcasted live by the Local Communication Network in 17 different television stations in Catalonia.

The shortfilm, PADRE, from Argentina, directed by Santiago ‘Bou’ Grasso, was the winner of the 40th edition. PADRE is a short animated film about the end of the dictatorship of Argentina.

The Special Jury Prize was awarded to HASTA SANTIAGO, directed by Mauro Carraro, a Swiss animated film with a sports theme about the Camino de Santiago.

The Venus of Badalona and the 750 euros for the best fiction have been granted to GREAT ADVENTURES, an Australian short film directed by Gerard Lambkin.

Jacqueline Staup, lead actress of the Belgian film ALBERTINE has won the Venus of Badalona for Best Actress. Patrick Hernandez, executive producer of the film, collected the posthumous award .

Vincent Joncquez, lead actor of SANS VOIX has won the Venus of Badalona for Best Actor.

Filmets - Badalona Film Festival 2014FILMETS awarded with the Honor Award the program CINEMA 3 of Television of Catalonia, directed and hosted by Jaume Figueras. He received the honor prize because of the 30th anniversary of the TV program, the support and promotion given to the shortfilm industry and film festivals in Catalonia and as a cultural landmark in our country.

The Filmets team appreciates the collaboration and participation of all directors, producers, musicians, … present in all the official and unofficial sections of the festival.
