The deadline for short film submissions is May 31
The call for short film submissions to the Official Section of the 52nd edition of the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival is now open. The festival will take place from October 15 to 25, 2026. Productions up to 30 minutes in length may be submitted in the fiction, animation, and documentary categories. The submission deadline is May 31, 2026 at 10:00 PM (CET). Entries must be submitted via the Festhome and Movibeta platforms, accessible through the festival’s official website: festivalfilmets.cat.
New Award for Best Editing
One of the new features of this 52nd edition is the Best Editing Award – AMMAC, which includes the Venus de Badalona statuette and a €400 cash prize. The award is presented by the “Associació de Muntadores i Muntadors Audiovisuals de Catalunya”, a non-profit association bringing together film editors, assistant editors, and editing professionals from various audiovisual sectors —fiction, documentary, entertainment, advertising, and social media— in Catalonia.
According to Marc Orts, the festival’s artistic director, “technical and artistic specialties usually receive little visibility at festivals, and we believe they are essential.”
