Film director Isaki Lacuesta, screenwriter, director, and producer Isa Campo, journalist and educator Gloria Fernández, director and screenwriter Roser Aguilar, and cinematographer Takuro Takeuchi make up the official jury of the 2025 FILMETS Badalona Film Festival. A jury composed of five distinguished and complementary voices, with a critical eye, a strong commitment to the industry, and a passion for teaching.
ISAKI LACUESTA
A film director from Girona with an international career and an award-winning filmography. He has received the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián Film Festival for Entre dos aguas and Los pasos dobles, as well as the FIPRESCI Award for Los condenados. He won the Goya Award for Best Screenplay for Un año, una noche and, more recently, the Goya Award for Best Director for Segundo premio, a film also honored at the Málaga Film Festival. Committed and with a deeply personal auteur vision, Lacuesta is an essential voice in contemporary cinema.
ISA CAMPO
Screenwriter, director, and producer, she is one of the most prominent creators in contemporary audiovisual media. She has written films such as Maixabel, Un año, una noche, and La próxima piel, which she also co-directed, and is the creator of the TV series Apagón. She has taught at Pompeu Fabra University and served as a mentor in programs supporting women filmmakers, such as ACCIÓ VIVER. Campo brings a critical perspective and a strong commitment to social reality.
GLORIA FERNÁNDEZ
Journalist, film critic, and educator, she is one of the leading promoters of Asian cinema in Spain. Co-founder and co-director of CineAsia, she has written and coordinated specialized books such as Johnnie To: Redefining Auteur Cinema and (De)constructing Apichatpong Weerasethakul. A member of the selection committee of the Sitges Film Festival and co-director of the Korean Film Festival Barcelona, she regularly collaborates with festivals such as San Sebastián and Fancine Málaga, as well as institutions like the Japan Foundation, the Confucius Institute Foundation of Barcelona, and the Consulate of the Republic of Korea.
ROSER AGUILAR
Director and screenwriter trained at ESCAC and in Journalism at UAB. Her debut, Lo mejor de mí (2007), was awarded at Locarno and received around twenty international prizes. Among other works, she has directed the multi-award-winning short film Ahora no puedo, the feature film Brava, and several episodes of the series Madres. She also works as an educator and is currently part of the team for the Catalunya Media City project, the future audiovisual hub located at the Tres Xemeneies in Sant Adrià del Besòs.
TAKURO TAKEUCHI
Cinematographer and camera operator from Badalona, he was awarded the Gaudí Award for Best Cinematography for Segundo premio. With a long career in advertising and short films, Takeuchi stands out for his visual sensitivity and his ability to bring a fresh perspective to audiovisual storytelling.
The members of the Official Jury will take part in one of the FILMETS Talks, a new series of professional conversations designed to share the talent and experiences of renowned filmmakers. Lacuesta, Campo, Fernández, Aguilar, and Takeuchi will converse with the festival’s artistic director, Marc Orts, on Friday, October 24, at 7:00 PM.
The 51st edition of the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival will take place from October 16 to 26, 2025. More than 250 short films will compete, with fifteen awards to be presented, including the prestigious Venus of Badalona for Best Film, endowed with €4,000.
The Venus Night, the awards ceremony, will take place on October 25 at the Teatre Zorrilla in Badalona and will be broadcast on Televisió de Badalona, local TV stations affiliated with La Xarxa, and the La Xarxa+ platform.
