Badalona, September 4, 2025 | As part of its 51st edition, the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival is launching FILMETS LAB, a film project development laboratory aimed at young creators between the ages of 18 and 30. The goal of FILMETS LAB is to encourage the creation of short films in fiction, animation and documentary, while providing tools, guidance and visibility to emerging talent in Catalonia. The call for submissions will remain open until October 3, 2025.

Pitching and award for the selected project
The finalist projects will be presented in a pitching session to be held on October 21, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Teatre El Círcol in Badalona, within the framework of the festival. The jury, made up of professionals from the audiovisual and film sectors, together with the organizing committee, will choose the winning project, which will receive:
Mentorship and personalized guidance throughout all phases of production (script, production, shooting, postproduction, animation and distribution).
The premiere of the short film within the official programme of the 52nd edition of the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival in 2026.
Participation requirements
FILMETS LAB is open to professionals, students and creators residing in Catalonia between the ages of 18 and 30. Projects in fiction, documentary or animation with a maximum length of 15 minutes may be submitted. Candidates must send a complete proposal including synopsis, logline, biography and project status, among other materials.
