Montserrat Carulla, Prize of Honour of FILMETS 41st edition

Montserrat CarullaMontserrat Carulla, actress, is an example of our cinema, theatre and television, committed to our society, shortfilms and film festivals in Catalonia. She will be awarded with the Prize of Honour Filmets 2015, which will be presented to her on Saturday 28th November (20:00 h) at LA NIT DE LES VENUS.

Catalan actress, she started off acting in amateur theatre and at the end of the 40’s, she took some courses at Barcelona Theatre Institute.

Since 196 she began acting in professional theatre, performing in plays such as Soparem a casa, El fiscal Recasens and Josep Maria de Sagarra’s adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. She spent two seasons in Madrid and came back to Barcelona in 1964.

Since then, she acted in several plays, movies and TV series such as Secrets de família, El cor de la ciutat or Hospital Central among others.

She studied Art History as well at the University of Barcelona in 1970 and dubbed foreign movies into Catalan and Spanish. In 1995 she was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi Award, in 1999 the Gold Medal to Artistic Achievement and in 2013 the Prize Gaudí of Honour by the Catalan Film Academy.
