Switzerland is the guest country at this year’s festival, which will be held from 20 to 29 November

FILMETS Badalona Film Festival this year celebrates 41st with the participation in the official selection of over 250 films from 48 countries participating. These films, five of which are productions of Badalona, ​​are those that have been selected to compete in the festival this year from more than 4,500 registered films that can be seen in 27 different competitive sessions.

The third deputy mayor and councilor of the Area of ​​Badalona Democratic Jose Tellez; the fourth deputy mayor and councilor of the Field Educator Badalona, ​​Laia Sabater; the director of the festival, Agustí Argelich; and the Managin director of Badalona Communication, Josep Viñeta, presented at a press conference the new features of this year’s festival.

FILMETS, a competition reference worldwide in the field of short films will be held from 20 to 29 November. The festival is organized by the City of Badalona and produced by the municipal Badalona Communication. The screenings will be in theaters Zorrilla and Principal. The hall of CES Joan Maragall, the Center for Traditional Culture Can Canyadó Civic Center Health, the city libraries and for the first time, the French Institute also become the scene of some sessions festival.

Switzerland is the guest country in this year. Also Sunday, November 22, at 19 pm, will be the session “Cinema, music and gastronomy Switzerland, the guest country”, which will include musical performances by Gilles Estoppey and tastings of wines and typical products of the Alpine country.

The international official jury is formed by the president of the Catalan Film Academy, Isona Passola (Catalonia), which acts as president of the jury; co-founder of the Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand, Antoine Lopez (France);actress Eriko Takeda (Japan); actor Daniel Horvath (Russia / Hungary); and coordinator of the Barcelona Film Commission, Montserrat Guiu (Catalonia).

This year, the actress Montserrat Carulla has been awarded the Prize of Honor of the 41st filmed Badalona Film Festival, a recognition that will be given at the closing ceremony on Saturday 28 November.

The third deputy mayor and councilor of the Democratic Scope of Badalona, ​​Jose Tellez, said that “having a festival in Badalona this category is an honor for the city.” The councilor thanked the work of the organizing committee and the management of Badalona Communication and stressed the live broadcast of the closing gala will take place on Saturday 28 November, from 20 hours, from the Theatre Zorrilla. Jose Tellez wished that “this year has the role cinema, films, actors and directors, not politicians.”

Meanwhile, the fourth deputy mayor and councilor of the Field Educator Badalona, ​​Laia Sabater, said that “we must highlight the festival FILMETS project itself internationally and has also been rooted and consolidated the city”. Laia Sabater highlighted the work done to bring the festival each year and more citizens in this regard has highlighted that “for the first time kindergarten has helped make a short with the participation of children of 1 and 2 years. ”
